1. Overview
Avonnashay Jah’s World (“AJW,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a creative publishing platform that provides access to written works, audio content, and related materials. Some content is publicly available, while other content is offered through paid subscriptions, Rooted Membership, or preorder fulfillment.
By engaging with AJW, you agree to use this space respectfully and in accordance with these terms.
2. Access & Membership
Free Access
Free subscribers may receive access to select public posts, excerpts, and updates. Free access does not include early chapters, private notes, or audio variations unless explicitly stated.
Paid Subscriptions
Paid subscribers receive access to designated paid content for the duration of an active subscription. Access pauses automatically if a subscription ends.
Paid subscriptions:
Are billed and managed through Substack
May be canceled at any time through your Substack account
Do not grant ownership of the content
Rooted Membership
Rooted Membership provides lifetime access to designated AJW content and additional benefits as described at the time of purchase. Rooted Membership is non-transferable and intended for individual use only.
3. Preorders & Early Access
Preorders may include limited early access to select digital materials prior to public release. This early access is provided as a courtesy and does not constitute ongoing or future access beyond what is explicitly stated at the time of purchase.
Preorder fulfillment includes:
Early access materials as described
The finished product upon release
No additional access is implied unless stated in writing.
4. Intellectual Property
All content within Avonnashay Jah’s World—including text, audio, imagery, and design—is the intellectual property of Avonnashay Jah unless otherwise noted.
You may not:
Reproduce, distribute, or resell content
Share paid or private content publicly or privately
Use AJW content for commercial purposes without written permission
Limited personal use for reading or listening is permitted.
5. Living Works Disclaimer
Many works shared within AJW are living texts. This means:
Content may be revised, refined, or adjusted prior to final publication
Early access materials may differ slightly from published editions
Narrative direction remains intact, even as details evolve
Engaging with early content acknowledges and accepts this process.
6. Refunds & Cancellations
Subscriptions
Subscription billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled directly through Substack and are subject to Substack’s policies.
Digital Content
Due to the nature of digital access, refunds are not offered for consumed digital content unless required by law.
Physical Products
Physical book orders, when applicable, are governed by the return and refund policies outlined on the AJW website at the time of purchase.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Harass, abuse, or harm other readers or contributors
Attempt to bypass paywalls or access restricted content
Disrupt the platform or misuse communication tools
AJW reserves the right to revoke access if these terms are violated.
8. Platform Dependencies
AJW content may be hosted or delivered through third-party platforms, including Substack and Square. Use of those platforms is also subject to their respective terms and policies.
AJW is not responsible for outages, interruptions, or changes made by third-party services.
9. Changes to These Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated periodically. Continued use of AJW after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
