I absolutely Love how you broke this down for Moana! I can't wait to to see your thoughts on encanto. I've said it so many times that THAT movie and coco were super spiritual in their own right. That movie was played well over 15+ times in this house hold 🤣🤣.
Appreciate that. These films hold more than people give them credit for, especially when you revisit them with intention. Encanto was bound to come up.
I love thia breakdown, I saw Disney and I stopped right tf in, and honesty this makes a whole lot of sense, because she was led by her ancestors in the water(her grandmother) and the water itself knew her purpose, her calling and knew she would be embarking on that soon even as just a child, it simply waited till she made the descions to step into that.I thought of the song that plays in the beginning of the movie cause she was told one thing but her spirit knew another, she already knew wtf she needed to do and why she needed to do it even it didn't say it in words first, then that makes me think of her father, her father went out to the water and was traumatized so he kept her essentially caged in from that fear, but when you are meant to do something that knowing simply doesn't leave you, you can try and silence it all you want but there's always going to be like a gnawing at your heart because you know the path you chose doesn't truly suit becahse you keep falling into potholes and tripping over rocks and getting stabbed in the foot by sharp objects, your steps will never know true peace doing shid like that.
You’re touching the exact tension I wanted to sit with next, what happens when intuition is intact but movement is delayed by inherited fear. That thread doesn’t resolve inside the film, which is why it felt worth returning to.
